Where will all the workers go?
Did you hear about the P.I. going under? That just gives me the chills. And all those people out of work. It's just a very strange time. I hear people in cafes and restaurants talking about economic troubles. There are commercials on the radio from the unemployment department saying that their phone lines are overloaded, please be patient, and try using their website instead. Everywhere I look, I see the affects. For Sale - Reduced Prices signs everywhere, For Rent signs, Out of Business signs; the number of empty office buildings, store fronts, and homes is startling. I have these visions of a ghost town. Empty building after empty building. And I start to wonder if people will leave Seattle, hoping to find jobs elsewhere. Except, it isn't just here. It isn't even just the US. The global economy is in chrisis, and it's something I never fathomed as possible. I can't imagine where this is headed, how it will end or resolve. I try NOT to think about it honestly, but it's swirling in the air around me.
